The future is what we make of it. Life gives us the opportunity to create and form the future.

As a religion, Christianity is not only restricted to the commemoration of historical facts, but most importantly, Christianity today seeks the reality of the presence of the Christ here and now. Through the awareness of the Coming of the Christ, Christians can find and shape a new relationship to the world.

This international conference of the Christian Community is meant as a celebration of true meeting in the spirit of Whitsun.Lectures, workshops and other events will give us the unique opportunity to find the substance of the Second Coming of the Christ through the inspiration of the Christian Community. Which new impulses can we actively bring into the world?

There shouldn’t be any restraints on how the theme of the conference is brought to life. A creative approach is most welcome! Where can I be creative? Your creative input is well needed in the various workshops, in conversation, in artistic projects, in theatre, in dance etc.

The international conference is open to all generations alike: adults, teenagers, and children. Children between 8 and 14 may also participate and have their own activities, the so called “conference holidays”. There will be day-care available for younger children.

Teenagers and adults take part in the main international conference activities together.

On the main days of the conference, the theme will be illustrated from three different perspectives.

 In human beings:

 How can the Second Coming of Christ be experienced within human beings?

 Through the community:

How can Christianity be enhanced in new and greater ways through the founding of Christian communities?

 For the Earth:

How can Christianity be an inspiration not only for us and our communities, but be fertile for the enlivening of the earth and its future?

The historical fact of Whitsun united the Disciples of Christ, who carried the new revelation into the world. Therefore, this international conference intends to be a gathering in the hope of experiencing the quintessence of the life of the Christian Community. May the inner fire of Whitsun inspire new, practical impulses for our day and age!
