Hi, Hallo, Hola, Hey!
Welcome to the Future Now! Youth site!
What does “Future Now!” actually mean? What springs to mind when you hear the phrase “Future Now!”? The future always plays its part in “the now”, the present and in our daily lives. Decisions we make today find their origin, their inspiration out of the future itself. In return we have the opportunity and responsibility to influence the future with the decisions we make, take up and live today.
At this International conference of The Christian Community, Future Now!, we want to engage ourselves with the question about the presence of Christ here and now. On this journey, we hope to find new impulses that we can carry into the future.
We expect people of all ages from all over the world. A youth group from Odessa/Ukraine has announced their coming already. They will perform a play called “The little prince”. A group from Israel are also planning to come. They want to put on a play called “Nathan der Weise” (Nathan the Wise) in 3 different languages, together with young people from the Jewish, Muslim and Christian faith. Furthermore, there are already registrations from South America, Japan, and South Africa.
Together we want to find an understanding of our various cultures, religious aspects and our visions for the future. We also want to meet and converse with other generations. What can we learn from the older generations? What can they pass on to us, which experiences have they made?
In the workshops we will have the opportunity to engage and meet one another. There will be workshops like dance, theatre-improvisation, painting, choir and a conference band. The main theme of the conference, the second coming of Christ, will be explored through various conversational workshops, many of them including practical experiments.
By clicking on the link “workshops”, you can access a list of all the various workshops available.
New ideas and initiatives for the workshops or the open market (Basar) are very welcome!
During break time, the night café, be it playing soccer, volleyball or singing, there will be plenty of time to get to know one another.
Please don’t hesitate because of the finances! If you can’t manage the full fee, we will try to help you through fee reduction and travel assistance. Please contact your local priest or the conference office for more information.
We are searching presently for sponsors to help us with financial aid. More ideas and initiatives from your side are always welcome.
If you would like to participate in the conference preparations, you are most welcome to join our next meeting on March 26th to 28th in The Christian Community Dortmund/Germany.
